Disney Store is rolling out an AI Personal Shopping Assistant inside its iOS app, and it’s starting with a select group of users before rolling out to the general public.
It’s designed to respond to natural, conversational language, so you can ask it something like “I need a gift for my 6-year-old who loves Stitch” and get actual recommendations instead of just search results.
The assistant is built to reflect Disney’s brand voice and character knowledge, so the goal is that it feels like a Disney experience, not just a generic chatbot. Human representatives are still available by phone if you’d rather talk to a real person.
What’s Already in the App
Even before this AI feature, the Disney Store iOS app already included:
- One-click shopping
- Push notifications for new products and sales
- Real-time order tracking
The AI assistant is being added on top of those features, not replacing them. It’s meant to answer the question most shoppers have the moment they open the app: what should I actually buy?
Who Can Use It and When
Right now it’s live for a select group of guests through a pilot program. A broader rollout to all Disney Store iOS app users with registered accounts is coming soon. Android users and browser shoppers are told to stay tuned for their own version in the coming months.
Disney Continues to Push AI into User Experience
Honestly, this isn’t a parks announcement, but you can read the tea leaves on where things are headed. Disney is fully embracing the AI revolution and implementing in areas it hopes will improve the user experience with its products. I fully expect AI integration into the My Disney Experience App and throughout the Parks and Experiences Division in the near future.
