Walt Disney World officially kicked off a new repaint project on Cinderella Castle today, and the first signs of work are already visible inside Magic Kingdom.
Guests visiting the park may notice painting crews working on exterior sections of the castle as part of routine maintenance until Noon each day. Disney announced they will remove workers from the area after Noon each day to allow guests for photographs without painters or construction workers visible.
What Weโre Seeing So Far
Based on photos taken today at Magic Kingdom:

- Grey paint is visible in a somewhat large section over the pink.
- It’s unclear if this is the final colorway, or simply a primer/base layer.
- No large scrims or full castle coverage at this time
- The castle remains fully visible for photos and fireworks
These projects are typically phased to minimize guest impact and preserve sightlines along Main Street U.S.A.
Will This Affect Your Disney World Trip?
At this point, the repaint project does not appear to significantly affect the guest experience, but at some point it feels inevitable that large portions of the castle will be different colors.
The ‘Let the Magic Begin’ Welcome Show is significantly altered (no characters involved).
As with any Disney maintenance project, timelines and scope can change. Weโll keep an eye on the progress and update this post if scaffolding increases or if Disney announces an official schedule.
