Comprehensive Guide to Lightning Lane Multipass and Lightning Lane Single Pass at Walt Disney World

Disney Parks have always been known for their long lines, but there are ways to make your visit more efficient and enjoyable. Previously, Disney World offered the free FastPass+ service, while Disneyland had a paid MaxPass. In 2021, these systems were replaced with the Disney Genie+ service.

However, in 2024, Disney introduced a new system: the Lightning Lane Multipass. This service allows guests to bypass standby queues and enjoy shorter wait times. In this guide, weโ€™ll cover everything you need to know about Disneyโ€™s Lightning Lane Multipass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.

What is Lightning Lane Multipass?

Lightning Lane Multi Pass is the new name for the Disney Genie+ service. It’s a paid service that you can add to your Disney World or Disneyland theme park ticket to skip the line on select attractions. It’s available for a single day or multiple days of your trip.

Purchasing the Lightning Lane Multipass grants access to Lightning Lanes for select experiences with a reserved arrival window. Guests in the U.S. and Canada can choose up to three multipass experiences and arrival windows in a single theme park before their visit.

If you are staying at a Disney World Resort hotel, you can make your first three reservations seven days prior to your arrival, or three days prior if you do not have an on-site reservation. The Lightning Lane Multipass also includes perks like digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos captured with Disney PhotoPass.

Enjoy Multiple Experiences

When you purchase a multipass, you can:

  • Plan ahead of your visit and choose up to three multipass experiences and arrival windows in a theme park.
  • Once youโ€™re in the park and enjoy your first multipass experience, you may be able to make an additional selection (subject to availability).
  • Enjoy photo perks. Receive digital downloads of select attraction photos and videos from your day, captured with Disney PhotoPass Service. Plus, access Disney PhotoPass Lenses. (Disney PhotoPass Terms and Conditions apply.)

What is Lightning Lane Single Pass?

The Lightning Lane Single Pass, previously known as Individual Lightning Lanes, allows you to purchase a single Lightning Lane entry for a specific attraction. This service is available for some of the most popular rides at the parks and is separate from the Lightning Lane Multipass. Similar to Multipass, Disney World Resort hotel guests can book their Lightning Lane Single Pass up to seven days in advance, or three days if not staying on-site.

Select Rides for Lightning Lane Single Pass

Select rides are not included in a Lightning Lane Multipass and need to be purchased as Lightning Lane Single Pass. Visitors can now plan ahead at both Disneyland and Disney World to secure fast-track access to select, high-demand experiences. Visitors can purchase up to two Single Passes per day.

Available Attractions at Disney World:

  • Magic Kingdom Park: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run.
  • EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
  • Disneyโ€™s Hollywood Studios: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
  • Disneyโ€™s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Avatar Flight of Passage.

Prices for Lightning Lane Single Passes at either resort vary by date and attraction. You can purchase both the Multipass and Single Passes.

What Happened to Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes?

Disney Genie+ was a paid service that replaced FastPass+ at Disney World and MaxPass at Disneyland. It allowed access to Lightning Lanes for various attractions, with prices dependent on the day and demand levels. In 2024, Genie+ was replaced by Lightning Lane Multipass, which introduces a few new rules. Individual Lightning Lanes have also been rebranded as Lightning Lane Single Pass. At Disney World, these services can now be purchased in advance, unlike before.

This flexibility means you can maximize your time and enjoy more attractions, even if starting your day at a less busy park.

The Lightning Lane Multipass and Single Pass provide a structured and flexible way to enhance your Disney Parks experience by reducing wait times and allowing for advanced planning. Whether you’re visiting Disney World or Disneyland, understanding how these services work will help you make the most of your visit and enjoy more attractions with less hassle.
