Last, the window opens earlier than people expect. Plenty of families show up at 6 AM ready to book alongside their dining reservations and find the whole day gone. By then it’s been bookable for six hours. That’s actually good news, because it’s the part you can control and it’s an advantage for those that are aware of it.

Your booking window opens at midnight Eastern Time, 60 days before your check-in date. Not 6 AM. Midnight.
The math trips people up, so here’s a real example. If you check in on June 10, your 60-day window opens at midnight Eastern on April 11. That means you want to be sitting at your computer at 11:45 PM Eastern on April 10, fifteen minutes before the clock rolls over.

I always start with the last full day of the trip. Three reasons:

- Other guests have often already claimed the earlier dates
- It’s easier to shift plans around an appointment near the end than one on arrival day
Within a day, I always make sure I know which appointment time to pick. If nothing good is open, I book what’s there and keep checking. You can cancel and rebook if something better appears.
A few more tips
- Use a computer on ethernet. Not the app, not hotel Wi-Fi. This is a speed contest.
- Have a second device ready with the page already loaded. I usually use the app as a backup.
- Know your backup dates before you start. Deciding at midnight costs you the slot.
