Everything New at Disney World in 2026 (Plus the Best Deals Right Now)

If youโ€™re trying to figure out whether 2026 is a good year to visit Walt Disney World, youโ€™re not alone. Between all the construction, new experiences, and some of the best discounts weโ€™ve seen in years, thereโ€™s a lot to sort through.

In the latest episode of the Adventures of a Disney Dad podcast, Chip and I break down everything thatโ€™s new at Disney World in 2026, whatโ€™s still under construction, and how families can save a ton of money if they plan it right.

This is a year of transition for Disney World. Some big projects are still in progress, but thereโ€™s also plenty of new stuff to see, plus some surprisingly good deals that make 2026 a really interesting time to go.

Disney World 2026 Is a Year of Big Changes

Before we even get into the parks, thereโ€™s a big headline story this year. Disney has a new CEO, and while that doesnโ€™t mean overnight changes in the parks, it does set the tone for where things could go over the next few years.

For 2026 specifically, the bigger story is that Disney World is in a heavy construction phase. Some areas are in flux, some rides are down or being reworked, and a few major projects are still a year or two away from opening.

But that also means Disney is leaning hard into discounts and special offers to keep families coming, and thatโ€™s where things get really interesting for trip planning.

The Best Disney World Deals for 2026

Honestly, some of the 2026 pricing is the cheapest weโ€™ve seen in a long time for on-site Disney vacations because the discounts are better than we’ve seen in the past.

Here are the three big things families should know:

Bounce Back Offers

If you stay at Walt Disney World, you can book your next trip within seven days of checking out and get up to 35% off your next stay. The best part is that you can use a small refundable deposit and later move that trip to different dates when new calendars open up. Itโ€™s one of the easiest ways to lock in Disneyโ€™s best discounts.

Buy 4, Get 2 Free vs Room Discounts

Disney is also running a buy four nights and tickets, get two free offer for some dates. The catch is that youโ€™re paying full price for the room, so depending on your travel style, the standard room discounts of up to 30% off can actually be the better deal.

This is where having someone price both options really helps, because the best deal changes based on your dates and resort.

Kids Eat Free on the Disney Dining Plan

This one is huge for families. Kids ages three to nine can eat free on the Disney Dining Plan in 2026 when you book an eligible package. If youโ€™ve got multiple kids in that age range, this can save you thousands of dollars over the course of a trip.

When you combine this with room discounts or other offers, you can get a full Disney vacation with hotel, tickets, and food for way less than youโ€™d expect.

Cool Kids Summer at Disney World in 2026

From late May through early September, Disney is rolling out Cool Kids Summer. The big focus here is more characters, more activities at the parks and resorts, and more stuff aimed directly at families with younger kids.

Think roaming characters, special dance parties, and limited time experiences that make the parks feel a little more playful and a little less like youโ€™re just running from ride to ride all day.

Some of the biggest additions tied to Cool Kids Summer show up in the park updates below.

Animal Kingdom in 2026: Whatโ€™s New and Whatโ€™s Missing

Animal Kingdom is in a weird spot in 2026. DinoLand and Dinosaur are closed, and the big Encanto and Indiana Jones area is still a future project, not something youโ€™ll see this year.

That means Animal Kingdom is probably more of a half-day park for a lot of families in 2026.

The biggest new draws are character related. You can already meet Nick and Judy from Zootopia, and this summer Bluey and Bingo are coming to the Conservation Station as part of Cool Kids Summer. For families with younger kids, that alone could mean long lines and a big reason to still spend time here.

Thereโ€™s also the new Zootopia show at the Tree of Life, which replaced Itโ€™s Tough to Be a Bug. Reviews have been mixed, but itโ€™s still something new to check out if you havenโ€™t been in a while.

Magic Kingdom in 2026: Big Returns and Big Changes

Magic Kingdom has some of the most noticeable updates in 2026.

First, Big Thunder Mountain is finally reopening after a long closure. Thatโ€™s a big deal for crowd flow and for Lightning Lane planning, especially with so much construction happening in Frontierland.

The new Pirates-themed bar, Beak and Barrel, is also open. It has great theming, small bites, and drinks, and itโ€™s one of those experiences thatโ€™s probably more for adults than kids, but still really fun to check out.

For families, one of the biggest Cool Kids Summer additions is Woody and Jessie taking over the Diamond Horseshoe. Itโ€™s the first time youโ€™ll be able to meet both of them together at Magic Kingdom, and thatโ€™s going to be a big character draw.

Thereโ€™s also the Cinderella Castle repaint project. Disney is moving away from the 50th anniversary pink and back to a more classic color scheme. The work is happening in phases, and while Disney says theyโ€™ll keep scaffolding and workers out of the way during the afternoons, first-time visitors should be aware that the castle might not look perfect in every photo in 2026.

EPCOT in 2026: A Calmer Year

After years of construction, EPCOT is finally in a quieter phase.

Test Track is back, Frozen Ever After is reopening with updated animatronics, and Remyโ€™s Ratatouille Adventure is now in 2D instead of 3D, which most people seem to prefer.

Thereโ€™s also Geo-82, a new adults-only lounge at Spaceship Earth. It looks incredible, but since kids arenโ€™t allowed, itโ€™s really more of an option for adult trips, date nights, or locals.

Later in the year, Soarinโ€™ Over California is getting an update tied to the United Statesโ€™ 250th anniversary, which should be a fun change if youโ€™ve ridden Soarinโ€™ a bunch of times already.

Hollywood Studios in 2026: A Big Summer for Families

Hollywood Studios might actually be one of the most exciting parks in 2026 for families with younger kids.

The big headline is the reimagined Animation Courtyard, which will include the new Magic of Disney Animation experience, six new character meet and greets, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live, which replaces the old Disney Junior Dance Party.

That area used to be a great spot to let kids run around in the air conditioning, and it looks like itโ€™s going to be even better now.

Rock โ€˜nโ€™ Roller Coaster is also getting a Muppets retheme, and thereโ€™s a new Smugglers Run experience featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu to go along with the upcoming movie.

And yes, for snack fans, Hollywood Studios is finally getting pizza spring rolls in Toy Story Land. No, you canโ€™t get the cheeseburger ones there yet, and yes, thatโ€™s still a tragedy.

So, Is 2026 a Good Year to Go to Disney World?

It depends on what you care about most.

If you want a trip with zero construction and a bunch of brand-new lands, 2026 probably isnโ€™t perfect.

But if you care about saving money, taking advantage of great deals, and you donโ€™t mind a few walls and cranes in the background, 2026 could be one of the best values weโ€™ve seen in years for a Disney vacation.

Thereโ€™s enough new stuff to keep things fresh, especially for families with younger kids, and the discounts can make a huge difference in what kind of trip you can afford.
